Hull City Injury Latest As Summer Signing Ruled Out For Next Four Games

Hull City injury latest as summer signing ruled out for next four games

Former Newcastle man ruled out after suffering knock in warm up

Hull City will be without summer signing Jacob Greaves for the next four games after the defender suffered a knock in the warm-up ahead of the Tigers' clash with Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.

Greaves, who joined the Tigers from Middlesbrough in the summer, has made a positive start to his Hull career, starting the club's first three Championship matches of the season.

However, the 22-year-old picked up a knock in the warm-up ahead of the Luton game and was replaced in the starting line up by Callum Elder..

Hull head coach Liam Rosenior revealed after the game that Greaves is expected to be out for around four weeks, meaning he will miss the Tigers' next four matches against Cardiff City, Sunderland, Wigan Athletic and Rotherham United.

The news is a blow for Rosenior, who is already without a number of players through injury, including fellow defenders Alfie Jones, Sean McLoughlin and Brandon Fleming.

However, the Tigers boss is hopeful that Greaves will be back in contention for the club's trip to Millwall on September 17.

"Jacob Greaves picked up a knock in the warm-up, unfortunately," Rosenior said. "It's a grade two medial ligament injury and he's likely to be out for around four weeks.

"It's a blow for us because Jacob has been excellent for us in the first three games of the season.

"But we have a good squad and other players are ready to step up and take their chance."

In Greaves' absence, Elder is likely to continue at left-back, with Tobias Figueiredo and Ryan Porteous forming the centre-back partnership.

Hull will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Luton when they travel to Cardiff on Tuesday night.

The Tigers have taken four points from their first three games of the season and will be looking to climb the Championship table with a victory in Wales.
