Krejcikova Falls in Final

Jelena Ostapenko defeated Barbora Krejcikova in the final of the Rothesay Classic on Sunday, claiming her first title of the year. The No. 2 seed from Latvia won 7-6 (7/4), 6-4 in a match that lasted 1 hour and 52 minutes.

Ostapenko started the match strong, taking a 5-1 lead in the first set. However, Krejcikova fought back to tie the set at 5-5. Ostapenko eventually won the set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7/4).

The second set was more competitive, with both players holding serve until 4-4. Ostapenko then broke Krejcikova's serve and held her own to win the set 6-4 and the match.

This is Ostapenko's second grass-court title of her career. She also won the Birmingham Classic in 2018.
