Manchester City Bounce Back with FA Cup Victory Over Chelsea
Bernardo Silva's Goal Keeps Double Hopes Alive
City Overcome Champions League Disappointment
Manchester City have eased the disappointment of their Champions League exit against Real Madrid by securing a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the first FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium.
Bernardo Silva made amends for his midweek penalty miss by scoring the only goal of the game in the 70th minute, converting a rebound after Julian Alvarez had hit the post.
The victory keeps alive City's hopes of winning the FA Cup and Premier League double this season, as they seek to add to their Carabao Cup triumph earlier in the campaign.
Chelsea, on the other hand, will be disappointed to have lost their first match under new manager Thomas Tuchel. They were largely outplayed by the visitors, who dominated possession and created the better chances.
The Blues will now turn their attention to the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid on Wednesday, where they will look to overturn a 3-1 deficit.
